GARMAN, Ray B., Jr. – of Davison, age 89, passed away October 14, 2018 at Charter ALF of Davison. A Funeral Service will be held 11 AM Wednesday, October 17, 2018 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd., Davison; Rev. P. Thomas Wachterhauser officiating. Burial with Military Honors will be in Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be 5-8 PM Tuesday and 10 AM until time of service on Wednesday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Veterans Support Center, 3546 S. Lapeer Rd., Ste. D, Metamora, MI 48455.
Ray was born in Mt. Carroll, IL on February 18, 1929, son of the late Ray B., Sr. and Catherine (Hungerford) Garman. Ray proudly served with the U.S. Marines and was a veteran during the Korean War. He married Millie J. Plant on September 11, 1954 and she preceded him in death on April 6, 2018. Ray was a member of the American Legion Post #267 and was actively involved with the VFW. He coached Davison Middle School basketball and baseball. He played semi pro baseball in Flint and for the Marines. Ray loved golfing, bowling and was an avid fisherman. He worked at Grand Blanc Metal Fab before retiring with over 30 years of service.
Ray is survived by his children, Jeff (Cheri), Tammy (Mark) Rothwell, Chris (Marguerite) and Dan (Anna); grandchildren, Kori (Kelli), Tara (Jesse) Adams, Mark (Katie) Rothwell, Jr., Kate, Chris, Megan, Nona, Josh and Grant; great-grandchildren, Mackson, Macie, Emmy and Aspen; sisters, Betty, Norma and Linda (Roger). He was preceded in death by siblings, Bobby and Dorothy; granddaughter, Kari Rothwell.
