John Andrew DeLay of Davison, age 60, died Friday October 28, 2022 at Henry Ford Hospital, Detroit. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Thursday November 3, 2022 at Hansen Funeral Home Groves Chapel, Downtown Davison. Pastor Todd I. Frusti officiating: with private burial in Richfield Union Cemetery. Family will receive visitors from 3-7 pm Wednesday at the funeral home.
John was born in Flint Michigan on February 22, 1962 the son of the late Robert and Helen (Shannon) DeLay and had resided in the Davison area his entire life. He was joined in marriage to Vicki Arndt on February 14, 1991. John was a graduate of Davison High School Class of 1980, and a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Davison. John was a true car enthusiast he loved auto body work, and mechanical repairs, and also was a true “jack of all trades”. His love of cats was known by all who knew him. He was a graduate of the police academy and spent several years in law enforcement, and later in life was employed as a security officer.
He leaves to cherish his memory wife, Vicki, his sons: John and wife Elaine’ DeLay, and Justin DeLay. He also leaves his brother Bob and wife Beth DeLay, his best friend Kevin Maciejewski, and a host of extended family and friends.
