Rachel Haneline of Davison, age 94, died Thursday May 5, 2022 in Hadley Michigan. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Monday May 16, 2022 at St. Andrews Presbyterian Church 8192 Davison Rd. Davison. Rev. Linda Graham officiating: with burial in Sunset Hills Cemetery. Family will receive visitors from 1-4 pm Sunday at the funeral home. Those desiring may make contributions in Rachel’s memory to the Davison Historical society, or the Church Memorial Fund.
Rachel was born in Flint Michigan on May 3, 1928 the daughter of late Guy and Ollie (Abbey) Harrison and has resided in the Davison area most of her life. She was joined in marriage to Wayne W. Haneline and he preceded her in death on January 18, 2005. Rachel was best known as Davison’s own “Betsy Ross” who appeared at numerous school and community events presenting the history of the American Flag. She was a member of the Davison Historical Society, and was a member of St. Andrews Presbyterian Church. Rachel was an active member of Davison VFW Post 4087 Auxiliary and had served in their Honor Guard and numerous committees. She also spent numerous years working with volunteer organizations helping those with special needs.
Surviving are children: Karen Haneline, Robert and wife Rochelle Haneline, and William Haneline. She also leaves her grandchildren: Kimberly Mikulski, Sarah Haneline, Nathaniel Haneline, Andrew Haneline, Nicholas Haneline, Jessica Haneline, and Trevor Haneline. Also surviving are great grandchildren: Amelia, Madelin, Brea, Amy-Jo, Ashley, Tate, Caleb, and a host of extended family. She is preceded in death by son Calvin haneline, and brothers William Harrison, and Hershel Harrison. Please share your condolences at www.hansenfuneralhome.net
