Ed was born and raised in Flint, Mi. He was married to Sally in 1955. He hired into GM in 1958 where he worked as an electrician. In 1968 he quit working at GM. He built his new home in Flushing, Mi. After that he built a few more homes and worked a few other jobs. He hired back into GM in 1972 and retired from there in 1990.
Ed enjoyed running and completed the Crim ten mile race several times. When he could no longer run, he took up bicycling.
A coworker at GM explained the plan of salvation to him and he accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as his Savior. His life was transformed and his main goals in life became serving the Lord and caring for his family. He served the Lord faithfully for many years at First Baptist Church and later at Trinity Baptist Church of Flushing.Because of his love for the Lord, his sharing of the gospel and his faithful support of missionaries, countless lives were changed in his family, his community and around the world. He truly loved the Word of God. One of his favorite verses was 1 Cor. 2:9 Things which eye has not seen and ear has not heard, and which have not entered the heart of man, all that God has prepared for those who love him.
He will be greatly missed on earth but we know that he has been welcomed into heaven to “all that God has prepared for him”, and for that we are thankful. |
