Marvin Oscar Anderson, of Flint,
passed away peacefully on April 8, 2025 at the age of 85.
Marvin was born on December 11, 1939 in Flint, Michigan to the late Glenn Anderson and Velma (Nelson) Anderson. He graduated from Dye High School in 1959, then graduated from the Flint Institute of Barbering in August of 1960. He took pride in his barbering skills that later accompanied him in his career as a barber. In September of 1960, he married his high school sweetheart, Norma Smith. They spent 64 years married until her passing in September of 2024.
Marvin was a life long business owner. He owned a barbershop alongside his father for many years. He then owned and operated a body shop until his retirement. He had a passion for working, being creative, talking and getting to know people, doing yard work, and spending time with his grandchildren.
Marvin is survived by his three children, Rick (Barb) Anderson, Glenn (Karen) Anderson, and Kelly (Joe) Gasper; grandchildren, Russell, Erik, Madeline, Nicholas, and Caitlyn; great-grandson, Atlas. He was preceded in death by his wife, norma Anderson; parents, Glenn and Velma Anderson; siblings, Edna Anderson, Homer Anderson, and twin sister, Marion.
A memorial service will be held at a later date. |
