LYMAN, Armon “Jo” – of Clio, age 91, went peacefully home to Heaven on Sunday, March 1, 2026, at McLaren Flint. Funeral service will be held at 1PM on Saturday, March 7, 2026, at the O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Clio. Honoring her wishes, cremation will follow. The family will receive visitors on Friday, March 6, 2026, from 4PM until 8PM and on Saturday from 12PM until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society.
Jo was born on December 20, 1934, in Flint, to the late James and Alice (Burns) Smith. She graduated from Flint Technical High School and was a wonderful stay-at-home mother for much of her life. In 1955, she married the love of her life and best friend, John “Jack” Lyman, and together they shared 65 years of marriage and raised three beautiful children. Jack preceded her in death on May 25, 2020. Jo enjoyed keeping her hands busy with crafting, crocheting, and knitting – and she was infamous for making homemade American Girl Doll clothing. Most importantly, Jo loved her family dearly and cherished spending time with her children and grandchildren. She will be dearly missed.
Jo is forever loved by: Children: Sheri (Gene) Hanson, Karen (Jeff) Rivera, and John (Heidi) Lyman, Jr.; Grandchildren: Jamie, Kevin, Melissa, and Thomas; Great Grandchildren: Briauna, Gavin, Asher, Maizee, Aynzlee, and Baby Jack due March 2026; Sisters: Sally Dennis and Ellie (Ed) Page; Many nieces, nephews, extended family, and wonderful friends. Jo was preceded in death by: Husband, Jack Lyman, Sr.; Parents, Jimmy and Alice. |
