William "Bill" A. Owen, age 86, of Swartz Creek, passed away on Monday, September 19, 2022. A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, September 26, 2022, at 2:00 PM at Sharp Funeral Home, 8138 Miller Road in Swartz Creek. Visitation will be held on Monday, September 26, 2022, starting at 12:00 PM at Sharp Funeral Home in Swartz Creek.
Bill was born on June 21, 1936, to the late William SR. (Bertha) Owen in Flint. He was the oldest of eight siblings. He had a fond love for building model airplanes, was a train enthusiast and just about anything with a motor. Bill loved to drive, and he especially enjoyed his Sunday drives with his son, Adam. Bill was known for being able to fix just about anything; he would "re-engineer' and it would end up working better than before it broke. His true happiness was being with his granddaughters.
He attended Holy Redeemer Catholic School and then graduated from Bendle High School in 1954.He proudly served in county in the National Guard (1954-1962), and then hired at General Motors of Flint in 1954 retiring in 1991.
He is survived by his son; Adam (Suzanne) Owen and their children, Lilyana & Aydin Owen; his son, Phillip (Jill) Fielder and William Fielder and daughter, Debbie Fielder. He is further survived by other dear family members and friends. In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his sisters, Rita and Christine and his brother, Dennis.
