DUVALL, Joseph Alvin – Of Grand Blanc, age 74, died Saturday, February 11, 2023 at Ascension Genesys Hospital.
Funeral service will be held at 12 p.m. Friday, February 17, 2023 at First Baptist Church of Grand Blanc, 6106 South Saginaw Street, Grand Blanc, Pastor Raleigh Adams officiating.
Burial in Great Lakes National Cemetery.
Contributions may be made to Food Bank of Eastern Michigan.
Visitation 11 a.m. Friday until the time of the service at church.
Joe was born in Flint, Michigan on October 23, 1948, the fourth child of James and Frances Duvall of Flint.
He graduated from Flint Northwestern High School in 1967, where he met the love of his life, wife of 50+ years, Brenda J. Cowden.
They married in 1968 and had one son, Adam.
Joe was in the U.S. Army, where he served in Korea.
He graduated from Detroit College of Business with a Bachelor of Science Degree.
Mr. Duvall worked at V-8 Engine Plant for 25 years, then went to Buick for 10 years, working at Plant 36 and 10, where he retired.
Joe loved to read books and work with wood.
Surviving are son, Adam and wife Debbie Duvall;
sisters, Carolin Duvall, Sharon Davis and Rose Allin;
brothers, Mike and Jimmy.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Gary.
