McCLAREN, Howard E. – Of Flint, age 88, died Wednesday, April 23, 2014 at Genesys Convalescent Center.
Graveside service will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday, April 29, 2014 at Crestwood Cemetery, Grand Blanc, Reverend James Kummer officiating.
Cremation has taken place.
Those desiring may make contributions to American Diabetes Association or American Cancer Society.
Howard was born in Flint, Michigan on May 26, 1925, the son of Thomas and Ada McClaren and was a resident of Flint.
He married Frances King and she preceded him in death in 2002.
He was a Veteran of the U.S. Army.
He was a member of the Eagle's Nest Christian Ministries in Mt. Morris.
He loved to golf, building models, crossword puzzles and enjoyed playing cribbage.
Surviving are friend and companion, Louise Staley;
also survived by niece, Kathleen Habermehl and other family members.
Mr. McClaren worked as a sales representative at Chevrolet, retiring on July 1, 1980.
He was preceded in death by wife; parents and nephew, Ted Habermehl.
