O’DELL, Raymond E. - Of Grand Blanc formerly of Flint Twp., age 83,
died Tuesday, January 17, 2023 at his residence.
Funeral service will be held 11am Friday, January 20, 2023 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint,
Chaplain Goodman L. Cox officiating.
Burial in Flint Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to The Medical Team Hospice.
Visitation 12-4pm and 6-8pm Thursday and 10am Friday until the time of the service at the funeral home.
Raymond was born in Bankston, Alabama on May 18, 1939, the son of the late James and Minnie Lou (Waldrop) O’Dell. On November 21, 1959, Raymond married Faye Wylie. Raymond retired from General Motors Metal Fabrication after 45 years of service and was a member of UAW Local# 659. He enjoyed watching football, especially Alabama “Roll Tide”, Detroit Tiger baseball and spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Surviving are daughters, Teresa (Leslie) Turnbull, Debra Clark, Connie (Todd) McMichael, and Kim (Troy) Hibbeln;
grandchildren, Lindsay Harrington, Michael Turnbull, Stephanie (Jason) Patten, Tyler, Nicholas and Courtney Hibbeln, Connor McMichael, Megan McMichael and fiance, Brennan Ferrilla;
great-grandchildren, Alex, Elizabeth, Mackenzie and Gracelyn Harrington, James Gray, Olivia, Logan and Landon Patten;
sister-in-law, Euline O’Dell;
brother-in-law, Russell (Peggy) Greene;
Faye’s brother, Gene (Bunny) Wylie, sister, Wanda (Larry) Symons;
sister-in-law, Ellen Wylie;
and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Faye, grandson, Cody Clark and 10 siblings.
