Mathew J. Kvintus, Jr. of Flushing, age 92, died Friday, November 27, 2020 at his home surrounded by his family. Private funeral services to be held. Burial at Sunset Hills Cemetery. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to the Parkinson’s Foundation.
Mathew was a dye maker who learned his trade at General Motors Institute, he was a master gardner. Served his country in the Korean War. He was an organized man in every way, from collecting stamps to color coding candies. He organized every class reunion since high school ended. He was a church treasurer and a trophied bowler. He knew everyone and cared for everyone he met. He enjoyed Walker Texas ranger, keeping the yard tidy, and making sure it was done correctly. But most importantly he was loving husband, father, grandfather and friend.
Mathew is survived by his wife, Marcia Sue Kvintus; children, Cynthia Kvintus and William B. Kvintus; grandchildren, Shaeanne, Christopher, Alan, and Alicia; brother, Henry Kvintus; nieces and nephews, Susan (Mike) and Genevieve; and sister-in-law, Willie. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mathew Sr. and Margaret; brother, Walter Kvintus; and sister-in-law, Anita Kvintus. |
