Richard (Dick) Lee Wilson Sr., age 81 of Flint, died Wednesday, August 19,2026 at his residence. Leaving behind a legacy defined by love, family, and a life well lived.
Funeral services will be held Monday August 24,2026 at 1:30pm at Swartz funeral home, 1225 W. Hill Rd., Flint 48507. Pastor Josh Levesque officiating.
Visitation 11 am until time of service at the funeral home.
Burial will follow at Crestwood Cemetery, Michigan.
Richard was born in Flint, MI on October 17,1944 to the parents of Gaylord and Geraldine Wilson. Richard was a resident of Flint Township areas most of his life. Richard grew up with a strong work ethic and deep appreciation for family. In his earlier years, he worked alongside his father at Wilson’s Bump and Paint, a time he cherished and often reflected on with pride. Richard Married Michelle Ridley on August 19,1999 cherishing 27 years.
Richard is survived by his wife, Michelle Wilson; his daughters Dawn (Reed) Schaefer, Gennelle Magness, and Jamie (Jordan) Peak; his son Honald (Tonya) Howe; and his grandchildren Ashton Clark, Megan Bond, Rachel Leonard, Caleb Wilson, Cheyenne Howe, Kendall Kehn, Kinsley Kehn, Katelyn Peak, and Jackson Peak.
Siblings Jim Wilson, and Kay Gregson.
He also leaves behind many stepchildren, grandchildren, and great grandchildren who were blessed by his steady presence and gentle heart.
Richard found joy in simple pleasures keno, lottery, and trying his luck with scratch offs. He loved spending time up north at Torch Lake, enjoying the water and the peaceful sensory of the outdoors. He also took great pride in assisting his wife with her daycare, forming meaningful bonds with the children who passed through their home over the years.
Richard’s family will forever cherish the memories, laughter, and love they shared with him. His legacy continues through all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Richard was preceded in death by his son, Richard Wilson Jr., parents Gaylord and Geraldine Wilson, brother Don Wilson.
Richard (Dick) L. Wilson Sr. will be deeply missed and remembered.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to the doctors who cared for him over the last several years. Especially Dr. Alpesh Korant, and nurse Jessica at A&D Home care and Hospice.
