POLEN, Nancy Anne - Age 81, of Linden, passed away Friday, December 16, 2022. A service will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday, December 21, 2022 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Linden Chapel, 209 E. Broad St, Linden. Pastor Brad Foster officiating. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Tuesday from 4-8 PM and Wednesday from 10:00 AM until the time of the service. Those desiring may make contributions to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, 29777 Telegraph Road #1651, Southfield, MI 48034.
Nancy was born October 27, 1941, the daughter of Samuel and Annette (Hulsebos) Loewy. She was a 1959 graduate of Amundsen High School in Chicago, IL and she received her Bachelor's Degree from Hope College in Holland, MI. She had resided in Linden since 1970 coming from Lansing. Nancy married Robert "Bob" Lewis Polen December 4, 1965 in Holland. She was a substitute teacher for the Linden Community School District and also taught Adult Education.
Surviving are: her husband of 57 years, Bob; daughter, Kim (Dan) O'Connell of Linden; son, Dave (DeAnne Polen of Linden; grandchildren, Macauley (Amanda) O'Connell of Byron, Connor (Paige) O'Connell of Allendale, Madison Polen of Grand Rapids and Carlie Polen of Linden; great grandsons, Leo and Zion O'Connell; sister, Ellen Stienke of Holland; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Samuel and Annette Loewy. The family wishes to extend special thanks to Rita, Marilyn and Shelby for their care and friendship. Tributes may be shared at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com. |
