SAUNDERS, Drake – of Davison, age 36, passed away on March 27, 2024. Cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will be held 3 PM Saturday, April 6, 2024 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Road, Davison, MI 48423; Pastor Kyle McRill officiating. The family will receive visitors from 1 PM until the time of service on Saturday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family for the Hawley Children College Fund, in Drake’s memory (payments payable to Erin Saunders).
Drake was born in Flint, MI on May 30, 1987, son of Bruce and Sheila (Pizzala) Saunders. He married Erin Townsend on February 3, 2023 in Gaylord, MI. Rarely sitting still, Drake enjoyed the outdoors in any capacity, be it fishing, hunting, camping, snowmobiling, or ripping up the trails in a side-by-side. He was an avid fan of Michigan Football and a season ticket holder of the Flint Firebirds, and while he had many interests, he remained generous with his time, helping anyone that needed a hand. Regardless of the activity, the most important thing was simply that he was doing something with the people he loved.
Drake is survived by his wife, Erin; bonus children, Teagan and Tucker Hawley; mother, Sheila Saunders; siblings, Hillary (Brent) Stockel and Katlyn (William) Bradley; nieces and nephews, Tevin, Maaliyah and Taelin Stockel, Charli Townsend and Emma Foster; many other loving family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Bruce Saunders.
