WELLS, Haskell – Of Flint, age 90, passed away Wednesday, April 1, 2026 at his residence.
Funeral service will be held at 1pm, Tuesday, April 7, 2026 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint,
Pastor Sarah LaRose-Nettel officiating.
Burial in Fairview Cemetery in Linden.
Visitation 2-8pm Monday and 11am Tuesday until the time of the service at the funeral home. A Masonic Memorial Service will be held 7pm Monday evening at the funeral home.
Haskell was born in Corbin, Kentucky on September 15, 1935, the son of the late Columbus and Sephronia (Bledsoe) Wells. On April 21, 1956 Haskell married Beverly Jean Wilson and she preceded him in death in 2013. He was a loyal member and past Master of Masonic Lodge #556 for many years, was a member in good standing of Elf Khurafeh Shriners Guard Unit for many years. Haskell enjoyed playing poker, blackjack and was an avid volunteer for the Shriners Circus, enjoyed working on all cars and loved spending time with his family. He retired from General Motors Metal Fabrication after 46 years of service and was a member of UAW Local #659.
Surviving are children, Dawn Hawley of Swartz Creek and
Melony Gifford and husband Randy Duplanty of Linden;
6 grandchildren, Eric Hawley, Elizabeth (Gordy) Middler, Chase Gifford and fiancée Claire Moore, Shaelin Gifford and fiancé Don Campbell, Savannah Duplanty and Emma Duplanty;
4 great-grandchildren, Ava, Addison and Camden Middler and Gianna Jamieson;
and several nieces and nephews.
He was also preceded in death by all of his siblings.
