Passed away suddenly Sunday morning, May 11, 2014 at home. Age 71 years. He was born on April 20, 1943 in Chesaning to Wenz and Emma (Nietling) Kulhanek.
He married Diane Coon on May 30, 1964, she survives him.
Leon served our country in the United States Air Force and retired from General Motors Flint Manufacturing after 31 years of service. He loved hunting, fishing, wood carving and especially spending time with his family and grandchildren.
Besides his loving wife, Diane he is survived by his three sons Dale (Kelly) Kulhanek of Chesaning, Scott (Angela) Kulhanek of New Lothrop, Rod (Elaine) Kulhanek of New Lothrop, ten grandchildren, Nick (Britney), Jared, Adam, Alex, Sidney, Samantha, Jack, Brennan, Logan and Madison, one sister, Sister Emma, one brother, Ron (Linda) Kulhanek, brother-in-law, Gail Robinette and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Danielle Kulhanek, sisters, Charlotte (Albert) O’Dell, Maxine Robinette and one brother, Bob Kulhanek.
Funeral liturgy will be held 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 14, 2014 at St. Peter Parish, Fr. Rick Bokinskie will officiate. Cremation will take place following the services, final interment will be in the Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, May 13, 2014 from 1:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Walker-Martin Funeral Home in Chesaning with the Knights of Columbus rosary at 8:00 p.m. You may also visit with the family at the church on Wednesday after 9:00 a.m.
