NICKS, Carolyn I. – Of Swartz Creek, age 79, died Thursday, October 15, 2020 at Maple Place Assisted Living.
A memorial service will be held 10am Saturday, October 24, 2020 at First Congregational Church of Durand, 403 North Saginaw Street, Durand, MI 48439.
Cremation has taken place.
Those desiring may make contributions to First Congregational Church of Durand.
Carolyn was born in Murray, Utah on October 23, 1940, the daughter of the late Newton and Edna (Salveson) VanSant.
On July 21, 1957, she married Robert Nicks in Nevada.
Carolyn was a member of First Congregational Church in Durand.
She enjoyed sewing and decorating cakes.
Carolyn was the Manager of Old Kent Bank.
Surviving are children, Ron and wife Trudy Nicks, Cheryl Viar, Sharon and husband Darren Gugle;
grandchildren, Craig Viar, Candice Martell, Haley Shaw, Kimberly Burnette, Jason Gugle, Amy Gugle and Curtis Bailey and
8 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband Robert, on June 21, 2019.
