TURNER SR., Robert I. – of Burton, age 90, passed away Tuesday, December 14, 2021 at The Pines of Burton. A Graveside Service with Military Honors will be held 3 PM Monday, December 20, 2021 at Davison Cemetery, 10080 E. Potter Rd., Davison, MI 48423; Rev. Harold K. Polk Jr. officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family, in Robert’s memory.
Robert was born in Flint, MI on November 6, 1931, son of the late Frederick G. & Ethel G. (Holmes) Turner. Robert graduated from Flint Central in 1950. He married Charlene A. Nutt on February 11, 1955 in Flint, MI. Robert proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War from 1952-1954. In his younger years he was an avid hunter and fisherman. He retired as a Foreman and Supervisor from GM SPO after 38 ½ years of service. Robert was a member of American Legion of Davison Post #267. He enjoyed going on casino trips. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family.
Robert is survived by his wife, Charlene; children, Robin Morey, Robert (Tammy) Turner, Jr. and Scott Turner; grandchildren, Stephanie (John) Ray, Heather Morey, Kandi (Neil) McCall, Robert (Laura) Turner III, Leanne Turner and Courtney Morey; great-grandchildren, Kaleb, Julieanne, Kylie, Ryan, Ethan, Christopher, Nathan and Zachary; and many other loving family members and friends. He was preceded in death by 3 sisters and 3 brothers.
