PRIME, Marvin Dean of Birch Run, formerly of Mount Morris, age 85 died Wednesday, April 28th, 2021 at his residence.
A Funeral Service will be held 11:00 AM on Saturday, May 1, 2021 at Faith Missionary Church, 1327 North Elms Road, Flint.
Rev Thomas Knight and Neil May officiating. Interment, with Military Honors, immediately following the service in Flint Memorial Park.
The family will receive visitors 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM Friday, April 30, 2021 at Swartz Funeral home. There will also be visitation at Faith Missionary Church on Saturday, May 1 at 10:00AM up to the time of the service.
Due to Covid-19 and government regulations, only 25 people will be allowed in the chapel at one time. Mask, group capacity and distancing guidelines must be practiced.
Marvin was born in Akron Township on June 11, 1935, son of the late Robert Nathan and Eathel Fay (Sharp) Prime.
He proudly served his country in the United States Army from Oct 13, 1958 – October 5, 1960.
On June 10, 1961 he married the love of his life Elaine Schuster in Flint and she preceded him in death on May 7, 2010.
Marvin retired as a skilled tradesman from General Motors after many years working refrigeration and air conditioning. His GM service was from November 2, 1962 – September 30, 1999.
Marvin attended Faith Missionary Church where he taught 4th grade boy’s Sunday School for many years. He worked in the church office and loved doing church maintenance. He enjoyed working on his 31 Ford. The Prime house was always full of family and friends. After retirement Marvin loved to read the bible, and watch the Tigers. He truly enjoyed and looked forward to having visitors and deeply cherished the time that was spent with them. Marvin loved his four grandchildren and being a Grandpa. His faith and family meant everything to him.
Surviving are two daughters, Debra and husband Donald Mahoney, Robin and husband Bret Davis, all of Clio;
four grandchildren, Joshua and Jeremy Mahoney, Kayla and Kelsey Davis
He was preceded in death by his parents Robert and Eathel Prime; his beloved wife Elaine Prime; brother Nathan Junior Prime; sister Doreen Ducharme. Surviving two sisters Velma Harris and Faith May.
