Gary Dean Hayden of Fenton passed away at 67 years old after a long cancer battle. He was a hardworking man, a kind-hearted man, an animal lover, a craftsman and a musician with a great sense of humor.
Gary worked hard providing for his family while working for over 40 years at Acument Global Technologies and often took vacation days just to work on things at home.
He was a kind-hearted man, always happy to help others, from plowing the neighbors’ driveways every winter, to helping perfect strangers in any way he could. He had even started making and giving away bottle and jar openers to those who needed an extra hand.
Gary loved animals especially dogs. He could not go long without at least one dog in the house, and he loved feeding the birds in the front yard.
To say he was a craftsman is a bit of an understatement. He was a woodworker and self-taught engineer who made many things for the household throughout the years. He even later in life got into 3D printing. The most impressive thing he built was a basement that he dug from a crawlspace under the house.
He was a musician and music lover in general. He played different instruments but was primarily a drummer and played drums in different bands throughout the years, including Live Bait, Living Room Lawn and even The Cellar Dwellers.
One thing Gary is definitely known for his great sense of humor. He loved to laugh. He also loved to tell jokes (even the not so funny ones). Gary has proudly passed his jokes on to his children and grandchildren.
Gary is survived by his wife Sue Hayden (Jensen) of 48 years, his sons; Shane and Jason and his daughter Gina, 5 grandchildren; Kyle and Cori (Hayden) Nathan, Raiden and Brandon (Krause), his sister Pam Braden, his mother-in-law Emma Lindsay, as well as his granddog Wenda, and many other beloved family members and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents Doug and Jane Hayden, his daughter Deanna, brothers Craig and Marty, Father-in-law Hollis Jensen, step father-in-law Harry Lindsay, nephew Matthew Turner, and close friends Bruce Ambler, Mike Young, Neal Peterson, and Clarence Dear, as well as several beloved family dogs.
