HOBSON, Linda Lee – of Clio, age 78, died Wednesday, November 1, 2023, at her residence in Clio, Michigan. Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, November 6, 2023, at Real Life Church in Montrose, Michigan. Pastor Robert Koch officiating. Burial in Woodlawn Cemetery in Clio, Michigan. The family will receive visitors on Sunday, November 5, 2023, from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM at O'Guinn Family Funeral Home in Clio, Michigan and from 10:00 AM until the time of service on Monday at Real Life Church. Memorial contributions can be made to the Real-Life Church or the Alzheimer's Association.
Linda was born November 9, 1944, in Flint, Michigan to Paul and Geraldine (Simpson) Torrey. She grew up in Clio, Michigan and graduated as valedictorian from Clio High School with the class of 1962. On May 21st 1965 she married her high school sweetheart Ben Hobson in Clio, Michigan and they enjoyed an incredible 58 years together. They raised two children and enjoyed playing a significant role in their nine grandchildren’s lives by attending many sports and music events, building family traditions and having a lot of Dairy Queen along the way. After a few years as a substitute teacher for Clio schools she went on to work at Michigan Federal Credit Union as a teller and retired in 2003 after 25 years. Ben and Linda, along with several other couples helped launch The Lamb of God Fellowship Church in Clio (currently known as Real Life Church in Montrose) in April of 1981. The church started as a Bible study group in the upper room of their home. She volunteered as the church treasurer serving faithfully for over 30 years as well as helping in many other areas of ministry. Linda always loved people by being the behind the scenes support such as cooking at many cross-country summer camps, contributing to funeral dinners at church and loving teenagers in the youth ministry. She always made everyone feel loved and welcomed with her gentle smile and her warm heart.
Surviving are: husband of 58 years, Ben Hobson; mother in law Elaine Hobson; sister, Cindy (Mike) Clark; brother, Jeff (Karie) Torrey; sisters-in-law Deborah (Tom) Farley, Marcia Torrey; daughter, Kim (Kevin) Sharp; son Tim (Amy) Hobson; grandchildren, Tristan Sims, Trevor Sims, Trey Sims, Tanner Sims, Remington (Eric) Vandefifer, Peyton Hobson, Torrey Hobson, Chase Hobson, Elisha Hobson and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father and mother, Paul and Geraldine Torrey; father-in-law Ralph Hobson; and brother, Steve Torrey; brother in law, Bill Hobson.
