GERMAINE, Hazen Jr. – It brings us great sadness to announce the passing of Hazen Germaine, Jr. on Sunday, May 22, 2022.
Hazen, age 87, passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by his children, Todd Germaine, Timothy Germaine and Lisa Kennedy. We are comforted by knowing he is now reunited in Heaven, with Shirley Germaine, his wife of 63 years.
Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, May 28, 2022 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Reverend Paul Ytterock officiating.
Burial in Crestwood Cemetery with a military graveside service.
Visitation 11 a.m. Saturday until the time of the service at the funeral home.
Hazen was born on January 11, 1935, in Pigeon, Michigan. He was forever THANKFUL to his parents, Hazen Germaine Sr. and Mildred Germaine, for their love and dedication to him and his 6 brothers, Dick, Harold, Gerry, Ron, Jim and David.
You could hear the pride in his voice when he spoke of his time as a U.S. Marine, earning the rank of Sergeant. He was especially PROUD of his relationship and devotion to God.
He often volunteered his time and labor for various charitable services. He was asked to speak at many of his church’s services. His strong and powerful voice delivered a very passionate message.
He gave great praise to the Lord for the BLESSINGS of his family. He would say that his 4 children (Todd, Tim, Lisa and Erica) were his gifts from God.
His 7 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews brought tremendous joy to him. Especially during the many family gatherings.
For those of us who had our lives touched by him… We are the ones who are THANKFUL, PROUD and BLESSED.
