FREDERICK, Charlotte A. – of Clio, age 82, died peacefully on Saturday, March 12, 2022, at Bentley Manor, where she had resided the last 13 years. Funeral Mass will be held at 11AM Wednesday, March 16, 2022, at SS. Charles and Helena Catholic Church – 230 E. Vienna St., in Clio. Rev. Fr. Kenneth Coughlin officiating. Cremation to follow. The family will receive visitors at the O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Clio on Tuesday from 4PM until 8PM and at the church on Monday from 9:30AM until the time of Mass at 11AM. A Rosary will be prayed 7PM Tuesday evening at the funeral home. In memory of Charlotte, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
Charlotte was born on April 2, 1939, in Flint, Michigan to the late Muriel and Louise (Cartier) Smith. She grew up in Flint and attended St. Mary’s Catholic School in Flint. Charlotte married John Henry Frederick on September 24, 1955. He preceded her in death January 25, 1992. She worked at Dawn Donuts as an assistant manager for 10 years, and at St. Joseph Hospital in housekeeping. Charlotte enjoyed working on puzzles, and trips to the U.P. She loved quality family time and get togethers more than anything. Charlotte was always friendly and willing to help anyone in need.
Surviving are: Daughter, Kathleen (Clifford) Roupe; Sons: Robert (Elizabeth) Frederick, Ron (Marilyn) Frederick, and Richard (Lori) Frederick; Grandchildren: Michael (Jacqueline), John, Matthew (Lucia), Melissa (Brian), Robert Jr. (Joan), Josh (Hannah), Sarah, Zach (Anne), and Scott (Crystal); Many great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other loving family members and dear friends. Charlotte was also preceded in death by: Son, John Henry Frederick Jr.; Great grandson, Robert Steven Frederick; Great granddaughter, Ruth Ann Frederick; Sisters: Dorothy Griffith, and Evelyn Scofield; Brother, Leonard Smith. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the wonderful and loving caregivers at Bentley Manor who became family to Charlotte over the years.
