CALUGARU, George Comanici – of Clio, age 75, died Thursday, December 20, 2018 at McLaren Healthcare. Honoring his wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial Service will be held in honor of George 12PM, Thursday, December 27, 2018 at Messiah Lutheran Church, 520 Butler Street, Clio. Vicar Andrew Simpson officiating. Family will receive visitors at the church on Thursday from 10AM until the time of service at 12PM. Memorial contributions can be made to Messiah Lutheran Church.
George was born February 20, 1943 in Flint, Michigan to the late Nickolas and Victoria (Orzea) Calugaru. He grew up in Mt. Morris, Michigan and graduated from Mt. Morris High School in 1961. On September 4, 1965 he married Anna Evans in Flint, Michigan. George served in the Michigan Army National Guard. Prior to his retirement in 2002, he worked for GM as a Mill Wright at the Flint Truck Plant for 38 years. He was a member of the Messiah Lutheran Church in Clio. George was an avid golfer.
Surviving are: Wife of 53 years Anna; Children, Rachelle (Dave) Frame, Paul (Lisa) Calugaru, Nick (Amy) Calugaru, Heather (Ryan) Giles; Grandchildren, Ashtyn (Nate) Graham, Easi Frame, Myah Calugrau, Lauren Rowley, Nikolas Calugrau, River Giles; 3 Great Grandchildren; Sister, Dolly Acker.
