BURWELL, Doris Ann – of Mt. Morris, age 75 passed away Sunday August 16, 2020 at Heartland Health Care Center – Fostrian Manor, Flushing. A Graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, August 20, 2020 at Flint Memorial Park Cemetery, 9506 N. Dort Hwy, Mt. Morris. Pastor Rex Ray Dela Peret officiating. The family will receive visitors at the cemetery from 10:30 AM until the time of the service at 11:00. Memorial contributions can be made to the family for future designation.
Doris was born on June 6, 1945 in Flint, Michigan the daughter to the late James and Daisy (Kelsey) Shannon. She graduated from Grand Blanc High School with the class of 1964. On October 6, 1990 she married David E. Burwell in Grand Blanc, Michigan. She worked for 30 years with Tuar Grimbac now know as TGI Direct in Flint. She was a member of Mosaic Church of the Nazarene in Mt. Morris and belonged to the Flint Rock and Gem Club. In her earlier years she enjoyed going camping in last few she loved playing Euchre and Bingo at the club house of the Highlands Estate Senior Living in Mt. Morris.
Surviving are: beloved husband of 29 years David; daughter Joy; 2 grandsons, Stanley and Vincent; brother, Edward (Charlotte) Shannon; sister, Edna Johnson; sister in law Darlene Rockwood and Karen (Greg) Franklin; brother in law Douglas (Jill) Burwell; along with many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents; brothers; Louie, George and John, sister; Mary and brother in law David.
