GALEY, Gerald Dennis – of Flint, MI, age 77, passed away Monday, October 9, 2023. A Funeral Service will be held 3 PM Sunday, October 15, 2023 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Road, Davison, MI 48423. Cremation will take place following the service. The family will receive visitors 1-3 PM Sunday, October 15, 2023 at Allen Funeral Home.
Jerry was born in Flint, MI on November 14, 1945, son of the late Bill and Connie (Walker) Galey. He was a graduate of Genesee High School Class of 1963. On October 10, 1964, Jerry married Karen M. Hitchcock. Jerry dedicated many years of his life to General Motors, retiring in 1994. His strong work ethic and dedication were an inspiration to all who knew him. In his leisure time, Jerry had a passion for a variety of interests. He enjoyed swimming, water sports, he was an avid golfer, a skilled bowler, and a devoted fan of his favorite football team, the Detroit Lions and all Michigan sports teams. His enthusiasm for sports brought joy to countless gatherings with friends and family. Jerry's warm smile, friendly personality, and zest for life will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. His legacy of love and laughter will continue to bring comfort to those who were fortunate enough to share in his journey.
Jerry is survived by 2 children, Wayne (Tina) Galey and Tamara Shewmaker; 9 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; brother, William “Willie” Galey; many other loving family members and good friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Connie Galey; son, David Galey; 2 granddaughters, Samara White and Alexia VanCleve; sister, Linda Alderman; former wife, Karen Galey and loving companion, LaWana Beebe.
