Nancy was born in Flint, MI on January 1, 1940, daughter of the late Elwin and Sophia (Kiesling) Gabel. She married her high school sweetheart and longtime friend, Robert J. Adams on January 11, 1958. Nancy resided in Davison all her life and was a 1957 graduate of Davison High School, where she played on the women’s basketball team and other sports. She was born and raised on a farm, that is still in the family, enjoying every aspect of being outside and one with nature. Nancy shared her love for baking with all her family and friends with homegrown and fresh produce. She worked at Citizens Bank and Wolcott Elementary for 6 years. Nancy loved to sew, quilt, gardening, and train dogs. Most of all, she loved spending time with all her grandchildren. Nancy lived her life giving and tried to leave a part of her with each child that was a part of her life. Each family member would receive a handmade quilt, with her loving signature, a gift we will always treasure in keeping us warm. She was highly active in the Genesee County 4-H club, winning numerous ribbons with her steer. Nancy also volunteered as a leader in Girl Scouts, Band and Orchestra Boosters and Companion Dog Club. She made over 100 uniforms for the Davison Booster Programs and won many trophies for her dog training. Nancy and her husband, Robert, loved to square and round dance, travelling to other states to participate with other dancers. During their “Golden Years” they lived in Texas, where they loved to be with friends, quilting, dancing and playing cards.

Nancy is survived by her loving husband of 64 years, Robert; children, Dorothea (Darrell) Weist, Margaret Adams and Diana (Jeff) Snider; grandchildren, Dustin, Shannon, Danielle, Joel, Darren, Dennis, Amy, Amanda, Dustin, Aaron and Emily; great-grandchildren, Kyle, Caleb, Avery, Henry, Adlyn, Quinn and Joao; siblings, Shirley Hummel and Sharleen (Robert) Rogers; four-legged best friend, Zeba; and many other loving family members and friends, all are whom she loved and touched deeply.

The family would like to extend their gratitude and appreciation to Dr. Ishaque, Dr. Adams and McLaren Hospice and Homecare Foundation for their support and comfort during Nancy’s lengthy illness.
