DUBE, GENE R. – Of Swartz Creek, age 74, died Sunday, June 6, 2021 at his residence, after a 2 year battle with ALS.
Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, June 11, 2021 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Pastor Jim E. Nelson officiating.
Burial in Flint Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the ALS Association.
Visitation 1 p.m. – 3 p.m. and 5 p.m. – 8 p.m. Thursday, June 10, 2021 and 10 a.m. Friday until the time of the service at the funeral home.
Gene was born in Acushnet, Massachusetts, the son of the late Ronald and Dolores (Crocker) Dube.
He graduated from Mt. Morris High School Class of 1964.
On September 16, 1977 he married Marlene Thompson in Mt. Morris.
Gene was a member of the Moose Lodge in Flushing. He loved hunting, fishing and bowling. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family. He especially loved hanging out and playing electronics with his grandson, Jaxon.
Gene retired from Thompson I.G. in Fenton.
Surviving are wife, Marlene;
children, Raymond Dube, Melissa and husband Craig Castle, Kim Dube, Tony and wife Kathryn Dube, Shelly and husband Curt Stubbs, Mandie and Fred Zerka;
Grandchildren, Damian, William, Heather, Nathan, Amanda, Michaela, Cory, Cody, Crystale, Casy, Mirandah, Anthony and Jaxon;
many great-grandchildren;
brother, Ronald and wife Diane Dube;
several nieces and nephews.
