Hetzer, Danny "Sonny" - of Clio, age 76, passed away Tuesday, December 24, 2024, at My Michigan Medical Center Midland. Honoring his wishes, cremation will take place. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
Sonny was born May 10, 1948, in Flint, Michigan, to the late George and Minnie (Norlin) Hetzer. Sonny married Yvonne Reid on January 12, 1968, and together they built a life filled with love, laughter, and countless cherished memories. A dedicated worker for almost 37 years at General Motors, Sonny proudly contributed to the automotive industry until his retirement on June 1, 2004. Sonny's true passions lay in the great outdoors. An enthusiastic fisherman, you could often find him in his bass boat on Secord Lake or Sugar Springs, catching bluegill and later having a fish fry with family & friends. He'd spend countless hours on the pontoon, usually heading to Shotgun Hill loaded down with people and coolers, for another day of fun in the sun. He often had various projects going, enjoyed building things, and was always working with his hands. He loved snowmobiling, cutting wood, and hanging out in the barn shooting pool. He embraced an active lifestyle that kept him busy and fulfilled. His joy for life was infectious, and his adventurous spirit will be remembered fondly by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
Surviving are: Loving wife of 56 years, Yvonne Hetzer; Children: Rae Lynn (Ryan) Hall, and Chad (Pam) Hetzer; Granddaughters: Shelby (Austin) Moss, Riley Hall: Great grandson, Chandler Wayne Moss; Siblings: Donna West, Fred Hetzer, George Hetzer; Several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in passing by his Great grandson, Austin-Jax Moss Jr.; Brother, Terry Hetzer; Brother-In-Law, Steve West.
