Brown, Imogene “Emma” - Beloved, mother and grandmother, passed away peacefully at Cranberry Park Assisted Living in Clio, Michigan, in the presence of her husband, Joe Brown, on Tuesday, January 19, 2021.
Imogene Cochran was born October 20, 1936 in Kentucky to Lemmon and Ethel Cochran and grew up on the family farm in Spanishburg, West Virginia. Following high school graduation, Emma moved to Flint where she lived with her sister and worked for AC Spark Plug, where she met Joe W. Brown, and they were married March 31, 1956. Emma and Joe made their lifetime home in Mt. Morris, where they parented two sons, David W. Brown and Lawrence E. Brown (1962-2020)
Emma’s life was committed to her family and she enjoyed parenting, housekeeping, and gardening. She was a loving wife who diligently managed dietary and healthcare for her husband, Joe, until they both became residents of Cranberry Park of Clio in 2018.
Emma is survived by: Son, David (who served as her primary caregiver); 2 sisters: Claire (Bill) Owens, and Phyllis (Carl) Thorton both living in Michigan; Granddaughters: Erika R. Diehl and Ashley K. Bradley; Grandson: Isaac Brown, and two other granddaughters, Rachel and Carolyn Sue Brown, all of Tulsa, Oklahoma; 3 great grandchildren. She is also survived by two great grandchildren.
Current Covid-19 restrictions have limited memorial celebrations and therefore a private committal service will be held at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly, Michigan.
