CLAPP, Marvin J. - Of Grand Blanc, age 86, died Friday, September 15, 2023 at his residence.
Funeral service will be held 1pm Tuesday, September 19, 2023 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint,
Burial in Crestwood Cemetery officiating.
Visitation 2-8pm Monday and 11am Tuesday until the time of the service at the funeral home.
Marvin was born in Flint, Michigan in October 15, 1936. Marv married Connie Clink on June 22, 1979 in Flint. He graduated from Flint Technical High School and then earned his Bachelor’s Degree from Michigan Tech University. Marv was a member of the Genesee County Kennel Club and the Wobblies Golf Club. He enjoyed bowling, with an average in the 200’s and was an avid golfer. Marv retired from General Motors Skilled Trades after more than 30 years of service and was a member of UAW #659.
Surviving are daughter, Paula (Bob) Whalen;
grandchildren, Kacey and Cameron Whalen;
sister-in-law, Terry McLeod;
nephew, Kyle (heather) McLeod;
great nephews, Waller and Wyatt;
and great niece, Weslyn.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Connie and brothers, Morris and Bill.
