FLOYD, Douglas A. - Of Flint Township, age 73, died peacefully surrounded by his loving family Friday, October 14, 2022 at Hurley Medical Center.
Visitation only will be held 3pm-8pm Wednesday, October 19, 2022 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint.
Burial in Great Lakes National Cemetery.
Contributions may be made to the family for trees planted in his memory.
Douglas was born in Flint, Michigan on March 8, 1949, the son of the late Donald and Bland (Gourdie) Floyd. On December 23, 1995, he married Suzann (Schuneman) Davenport in Shelby Township, Michigan. Doug served in Vietnam with the Navy for 3 years before returning home to his family. A favorite pastime of his was golfing with his family and passing on that love to his children. He enjoyed relaxing at home and up north surrounded by puppies. He was a mentor and friend to many and never let his health get in the way of living life to the fullest.
Surviving are wife, Sue;
children, Bryan (Dani) Floyd, Christopher Floyd, Megan Floyd, Aaron Floyd;
grandchildren, Ashley, Alexa, Michael, Grace, Hunter and Ava Floyd;
great-grandchild, Jack Jr.;
and sister, Sandy Vancil.
He was also preceded in death by his brother, Don (Betty) Floyd, sister, Marilyn and brother-in-law, Joe Vancil.
