Age 64, of Mt. Morris, passed away on Saturday, April 26, 2025. In accordance with her wishes, cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will be held from 1:00 pm until 5:00 pm on May 18, 2025, at Highlands Mobile Home Park Clubhouse, 2197 East Mt. Morris Road, Mt. Morris, Michigan. Expressions of sympathy may be shared with the family on Sherry’s tribute wall at detroitcremationsociety.com.
Sherry Marie Owens was born on December 23, 1960, in Flint, Michigan, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James and Edna (Schmitzer) Perkins. Sherry worked for the General Motors Flint Metal Fab for many years before her well-earned retirement. She met, fell in love with, and married Rick Owens. Their marriage would be blessed with three children to whom she cherished deeply. In her free time, she loved watching NASCAR, especially #48, Jimmy Johnston. Most of all, she found joy being surrounded by her family, especially her grandchildren and her feline companions, Pebbles and Binx.
Left to cherish her memory is her beloved husband of 32 years: Rick Owens; her daughter: Tanya Owens; her two sons: Eric Lambert (Tamika Norris), Jeremy Owens (Aimee Owens); her grandchildren: Kylie, Katlyn, Logan, Hunter, Charleigh, Miguel, Tyler, Meriah, Camron; her sister: Kathy Sentell (Rick Sentell); her special nephew: Corey Owens; as well as many beloved nieces and nephews.
Sherry was preceded in death by her parents: Jim and Edna Perkins, James and Rita Hutchisson. |
