Gellings, Linda Joyce (Haist) of Swartz Creek, age 74, died Sunday, December 22, 2024, at her home. A memorial service will be 4 p.m. Saturday, January 11, 2024, at Rossell Funeral Home. There will be a gathering of family and friends from 12 noon Saturday at the funeral home until the time of the service at 4 p.m. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to the Barb Smith Suicide Resource and Response Network.
Linda was born in Flint, Michigan on March 12, 1950, the daughter of Dean and Joyce (Steinborn) Haist. She was a graduate of Flushing High School, class of 1968 and was active with class reunions and the alumni association. She worked at JD School Pictures for 30 years in various roles. Linda married Joseph Gellings on April 16, 2012. She enjoyed gardening, dancing, and get togethers with her friends playing Bunco and going out to lunch. Together with her family, she loved traveling and going on cruises. She loved Christmas and the holiday season. Her great joy was spending time with her children and grandchildren. Linda was a free spirit who loved to laugh and brought light to everyone she knew.
She is survived by her husband, Joseph; children, Laura Wares, Tracy and husband Shawn Harris, Aubrey Wares, Robert and wife Laura Wares, Bethany and husband Scott Smith; grandchildren, Anna, Austin, Andrew, Sierra, Miranda, Dylan, Robby, Brayden, Andilyn, Ben; great-grandchildren, Brinlee, Clara, Ryder, Emma, Oliver, Mateo; brother, Michael and wife Stefanie Haist; sister, Lisa Zvonek; many nieces and nephews; many dear friends; and her beloved dogs, Karma and Kizzy. Linda was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents.
