Charlene A. (Gilbert) VanRaemdonck-Hull went to be with the Lord on November 9, 2022. Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Monday, November 14, 2022 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Flint. Rev. Dean Dumbrille will officiate. Burial to follow at Bendle Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday at the church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in her honor to the Alzheimer’s Association or the Autism Society of America.
She was born in Flushing, Michigan on July 11, 1934 to Nora (Lumley) and Ernest Gilbert. She attended Flushing Schools. She married George L. VanRaemdonck on September 22, 1951. They were married for 50 years. They had 3 children: Julie (Steve) Dickerson, Sally (Ed) Gless, and Timothy (Ronda) VanRaemdonck. She cherished her family and they were her raison d’etre her whole life.
Charlene loved music and singing and was a part of musical groups with her Father and sisters. She performed with them on the Chesaning Showboat and other places in the area. For many years, Charlene worked at Bueche’s Food World in Flushing and had a wonderful rapport with her customers and enjoyed the fellowship of coworkers. Baking was a special hobby of hers as she served up many delicious meals and baked goods. She gifted her family and friends with cookies and her special Tea Rings at Christmas. Baking for others was her expression of love.
She is also survived by a dear sister, Virginia (Fran) Bubin, nieces and nephews, her beloved grandchildren, and also special friends, the Jim Koan family. She was preceded in death by her siblings, Marilyn (Meetze) and Ernest Gilbert, Jr. and grandson, Gregory VanRaemdonck. She married William Hull in 2015 and he also preceded her in death. |
