Jesse Michael Odishoo (JesseO) signed off for the last time on July 12, 2023.
Jesse came into this world on September 12, 1959. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jesse A. and Sophia M. Odishoo and his sister Elizabeth (Bette) Garrison. He is survived by his brother George (Claire) Odishoo and sister Janice (John) Witman. Also surviving him are his nephews, Michael Garrison, and Jeffrey (Carol) Garrison and their family, and Jonathan Odishoo and his sons, his nieces Starr Johnson, Keri Witman and Christine Odishoo and many cousins and their children.
Jesse was born and raised in Flint, Michigan and later moved to Davison with his parents. He graduated from Bentley High School and held a variety of jobs in the past including his own business as a DJ doing weddings, parties and other functions including some of the annual Assyrian picnics in Flint. Fifteen years ago Jesse was hired to be an on-air Announcer by a local Flint radio station, WFLT 1420 AM. Jesse no longer had to “work” for the rest of his life since he loved this job so much. His coworkers and managers were all such kind and caring people and he referred to them as his “second family.”
Jesse had a lifelong passion for rock music and built a vast record collection. Over the past forty years, one of his favorite pastimes was attending live performances by top rock bands. His encyclopedic knowledge of musicians, song titles, and lyrics was so extensive that he was a resource for people in the Flint music business. Jesse attended karaoke venues where he enjoyed singing a variety of songs to an enthusiastic crowd who often called him to the stage. Jesse loved other people and always had a smile on his face and a twinkle in his eyes, and he will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Holy Rosary Catholic Church on July 29, 2023, located at 5199 Richfield Road, Flint, Michigan, beginning with visitation at 10:00 a.m., Mass at 11:00 a.m., followed by interment at the Assyrian Cemetery at 3001 Plainfield Avenue, Flint, Michigan, beginning at approximately 12:30 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Hospital in Jesse’s name.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at the Brown Funeral Home website at www.brownfh.com.
