MURCHIE, Shirley Ann - Of Flint, age 90, on Wednesday, April 20, 2022 at McLaren-Flint.
Shirley was born on April 25th 1931. She was the fourth Daughter of Donald and Jennie Yager of Grand Blanc, Michigan. She had three sisters Betty, Donna and Nona. Shirley was a Wife, a Mother, a Grandma, a Great Grandma, a Sister, an Aunt, a Friend and a dedicated employee of Citizens Bank.
Shirley was the wife to our Father, Jim, for 54 years which was until his passing on December 31, 2004. She was the Mother of 4 kids, Cherie, Debbie Porter (husband Rick), Jim Murchie (wife Shannon) and Terry Pash (husband Bob) in order from oldest to youngest. She was a Grandma to five, 3 boys and two girls, Ricky Porter, Ryan Porter, Erin Janicki, Julie Hensman and Robert Pash, in order from oldest to youngest. Shirley was a Great Grandma to four, Cameron, Ella and Kaylie Porter and Tori Pash.
Shirley was a dedicated employee of Citizen’s Bank for 30+ years when she retired. She was the Assistant Head of the Trust Department.
Shirley was also a child of God and a believer that Jesus, The Christ, died on the cross to atone for our sins. She believed in God The Father, God The Son and God The Holy Spirit and that Jesus will be there to welcome her home. She looks forward to being reunited with Dad and Cherie, her Mother, Father, 3 sisters and all her friends who predeceased her and finished the race ahead of her. There is so much more to say about Shirley but I’ll just say this one last thing…
Those of us whom she loved she loved greatly and those of us whom loved her loved her for good reason.
A better Mom and Grandma we couldn’t have had.
We love you Mom and will miss you.
It’s only goodbye for now because we’ll see you again.
Funeral service will be held 1pm Tuesday, April 26, 2022 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint, Pastor Tim McKenzie officiating.
Visitation 4-8pm Monday and 11am Tuesday until the time of the service at the funeral home.
Burial in Crestwood Cemetery.
Contributions may be made to the Disabled American Veterans.
