Age: 65
Community: A Celebration of Life at the Seven Willows Barn, Grand Blanc, MI
|
George William Keely, 65, passed away peacefully at his home on December 16,
2025, surrounded by the love of his family. Born on January 28, 1960, in Flint, Michigan,
George was the cherished son of George Leroy Keely and Lucille Agnes (Stawasz)
Keely.
On August 3, 1984, George married his high school sweetheart and the love of his life,
June (Kneisel) Keely. Together they built a beautiful life rooted in love, laughter, and
unwavering devotion. Their journey took them through the communities of Flushing,
Grand Blanc, and Gladwin, where they raised their family and formed lifelong
friendships.
A proud graduate of Hamady High School and Ferris State University, George built a
successful career as a Real Estate Broker and Owner. More than a profession, it was
his calling. He had a gift for connecting with people as he could strike up a conversation
with anyone, and he was always ready to listen, offer advice, or share a story. Helping
others brought him genuine joy.
George lived life with passion. He loved hockey, golf, fishing, and boating, and he
approached each with the same enthusiasm he brought to everything he did. Those
who knew him will remember his warmth, his humor, and the way he made everyone
feel welcome. Loving, passionate, and endlessly friendly, George had a way of making
life brighter for the people around him.
He is survived by his devoted wife, June Keely; his sons Lance (Jennifer) Keely and
Brock Keely; his beloved grandson, Carter Keely, who brought him immense pride
and joy; and his 4-legged furry son, Bailee. He is also survived by his sister Sharon
(Scott) Palmer; sisters-in-law Jill (Dennis) Crisp and Jan (Steve) Jensen; and many
nieces and nephews who adored him. George was preceded in death by his parents, George and Lucille Keely.
In accordance with George’s wishes, a Celebration of Life will be held on January 28,
2026, at The Seven Willows Barn (3372 Baldwin Rd, Grand Blanc, MI) from 2:00 PM
to 7:00 PM, with a short service at 4:00 PM led by Pastor and friend Terry Herriman.
Guests are invited to come as they are and share stories, laughter, and memories just
the way George would have wanted. He loved a good story, and this day will be filled
with the many he helped create.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations be made to the Suburban
Hockey Foundation or Leader Dogs for the Blind, two organizations that reflect
George’s passions and values |
