Age 78, of Mt. Morris, passed away peacefully at her home on Friday, September 11, 2026. Mass of Christian burial will take place 11:00 am, Tuesday, September 22, 2026, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Mt. Morris. Rev. Fr. Roy Horning officiating with burial to follow at Calvary Cemetery. Dianne’s family will be present at the church to receive visitors on Tuesday morning from 10:00 am until the time of Mass at 11:00 am. Dianne Kathryn (Lefurgey) Blake was born on October 9, 1947, in Flint, Michigan; the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Paul and Kathryn (Weaver) Lefurgey. She attended St. Mary’s Catholic School in Mt. Morris and graduated from Genesee High School with the class of 1965. She was a lifelong member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. In 1993, she married the love of her life, Ronald Blake, with whom she shared many wonderful years and cherished memories. Dianne worked for many years as the office manager at Northwest Bowl before beginning a career she truly enjoyed as a Sales Representative and Retail Merchandiser for Maybelline Cosmetics and later L’Oréal USA. She was very talented at sewing and enjoyed making clothing, and creating beautiful things through her many crafts. Family was at the heart of Dianne’s life, and she especially treasured her role as “Grammie” to her grandchildren. She found great joy in spending time with those she loved and creating memories that will be cherished for generations to come. For the past 20 years, Dianne and Ron made their home at Lake Lapeer in Metamora, where she embraced the lake life and all the happiness it brought. She loved entertaining family and friends, tending to her beautiful flower gardens, and enjoying the peaceful surroundings of the lake. She also adored caring for their beloved golden doodle, Daisy, who was a cherished part of the family. Dianne recently moved back from Lake Lapeer to her home in Mt. Morris, where she passed away surrounded by the comforts and memories of a life well lived.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Ronald Blake; children: Lisa (Jamie) Cochran, David (Jill) Shegos; grandchildren: Justin (Grecia) Hernandez, Maria Hernandez, Ryan Blom, and Madison Cribbs; stepchildren: Ron (Julie) Blake, Christy Smith, and Tim (Michelle) Blake; step-grandchildren: Kirsten Blake, Caitlyn Blake, Brennan Blake, and Kamryn Blake; two step-great-grandchildren; sister, Martha Lefurgey; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
Dianne was preceded in death by her parents: Paul and Kathryn Lefurgey; siblings: Ruth Ann and Paul; and beloved golden doodle, Daisy.
Dianne will be remembered for her creativity, her love of family and friends, her generous spirit, and the happiness she found in the simple pleasures of life. Above all, she will forever be loved and remembered as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. |
