SMITH, Rodney Wayne – of Davison, MI, age 53, passed away Thursday, September 27, 2018. A Funeral Service will be held 1 PM Monday, October 1, 2018 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Road, Davison, MI 48423; Pastor Ed Emmerling officiating. Cremation will take place following the service. The family will receive visitors 2-8 PM Sunday, September 30, 2018 and 12-1 PM Monday, October 1, 2018 at Allen Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society of Genesee County, in Rod’s memory.
Rod was born in Flint, MI on May 5, 1965, son of Susanne (Brasher) Blaylock and the late Richard Smith. He was a graduate of Davison High School Class of 1983. Rod was an avid sports fan. He loved spending time with his family and he dearly loved his canine companion and protector, Iddie Biddie. Rod was deeply loved and will be greatly missed.
Rod is survived by his mother, Susanne Blaylock; brother, Jeffrey (Theresa) Smith; sister, Dawn (Steve) Baker; 2 nephews, Thomas (Autumn Aaron) Smith and Troy (Maria) Stieve; 3 nieces, Maranda (Travis) Schulert, Tiffanie (George Kler) Smith and Traci (Andrew) Brown; 2 special nephews, Tanner McDunnah and Liam McDunnah; devoted caregiver and loving friend, Carla Sills; many other loving family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Richard Smith and step-father, Thomas Lee Blaylock.
