SeKrenes, David Allen, age 68,of Clio, MI, passed away peacefully at his residence in St.Cloud, FL on Sunday, June 28, 2020. David was born on November 21, 1951, to John and Ann (Moliterno) SeKrenes in Flint, MI. He attended Mt. Morris schools. He went on to earn his Journeyman certification for welding and sheet metal.
David was a member of Teamsters Local #7 Zone 4 and was employed by Wm. Floyd Heating and Cooling. David was a member of Grace Presbyterian Church in Davison, MI. David’s passion was building race cars and a need for speed, building cars for Auto City Speedway and Dixie Motor Speedway. He went on to earn several rophies, plaques, and recognition. He also enjoyed fishing, camping,and vegetable gardening. Spending time with his family and friends. David married Catherine M. Leighton on April 8, 1977, and were married 43 years.
David was preceded in death by his father, John SeKrenes in February 1993, His mother Ann (Moliterno) SeKrenes in April 1993. David is survived by his loving wife Catherine. Children: Therese (James) Liggett, Rene’(Donald) Schreiber, David SeKrenes, Jr., Michele (Scott) Arman, and Marilyn SeKrenes. Siblings: John (Penny) SeKrenes, Marie Dennis, Charles (Nancy) SeKrenes, Kathy (Frank) Brittain, Richard (Carol) SeKrenes, Victoria (James) Stevens, Julie SeKrenes, and George SeKrenes. David had 13 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren and Miss Lydia o arrive in September.
A memorial service will be held in David’s honor on Friday, July 17, 2020 at 11:00 am. at Grace Presbyterian Church. 1084 N. Irish Rd. Davison, MI 48423. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Grace Presbyterian in David’s honor. David was always willing to lend a hand for anything anyone ever needed. And, his beautiful smile
always brightened the room.
