COOTE, Candice L. (Bigelow) – of Mt. Morris, age 67, went home to Heaven on Tuesday, January 25, 2022. Funeral services will be held at 1PM Saturday, February 5, 2022, at the O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Clio. Cremation to follow. The family will receive visitors at the funeral home on Friday from 1PM until 8PM, and on Saturday from 12PM until the time of service at 1PM.
Candice, daughter of Arthur and Beverly (Frappier) Bigelow, was born on July 10, 1954, in Salzburg, Austria, while her father was serving in the army during the Korean War. They later returned to Mt. Morris, Michigan where she attended Mt. Morris schools. Candice continued her education at Baker College where she graduated as a medical assistant. She worked for Dr. McGregor and then Scott A. Graves, MD currently for the last 35 years. Candice married Gary M. Coote on May 10, 1997, and they were blessed with their only child, John. They enjoyed 25 years together before Gary passed away on June 23, 2021. John was Candice’s world, she loved to follow his sports and music endeavors. Candice loved to paint, crochet, and enjoyed many crafts. She was a member of the Gleaners – Glen Arbor #237 of Clio and enjoyed working with the community. Family was everything to Candice. She loved her nieces and nephews and on each of their birthdays, would take them to the movies and spend special time with them creating memories they will always cherish.
Surviving are: Son, John Coote; Father, Arthur R. Bigelow; Siblings: Diane (Henry) Shier, Faye Cabello, Gwen O’Malley, and Howard (Tonia) Bigelow; Special sisters: Brenda and Patti; Special family member, Matthew Wiskur who was like a second son to Candice; Several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews, many other loving family members and dear friends. Candice was also preceded in death by: Mother, Beverly Bigelow; Sister, Elicia Bigelow; Grandparents: Clarence and Margaret Bigelow, and Era and Donnah Frappier; Great nieces; Aunts and uncles.
