WILSON, Donald – of Flushing, formerly of Fenton, died Sunday, August 20, 2023, at Maple Woods Manor. Honoring his wishes, cremation will take place and no services will be held at this time. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make memorial contributions to the family for future designation.
Donald was born June 14, 1935, in Owosso, to the late Gaylord and Geraldine (Smith) Wilson. Prior to his retirement, he worked at General Motors for 35 years as a crankshaft operator. On December 11, 1965, Donald married his best friend, Lillian Taylor, and together they shared 46 blissful years of marriage. Lillian preceded him in death in 2011. Donald was a member of the St. Roberts Catholic Church in Flushing, the Fenton Moose Lodge, and he was an honorary lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus. In his younger years, Donald enjoyed going hunting and restoring classic cars. He liked to keep his hands busy with gardening, home improvements, and he was a big fan of the Detroit Tigers. Above all, Donald was a wonderful man who will be dearly missed.
Donald is forever loved by his children: Barb Wilson, Debi (Andrew) Compton, and Don (Maria) Wilson; Grandchildren: Alex, Mariah (Cam), Jack, Cash, Ryan, and Gage; Siblings: Jim Wilson, Kay Gregson, and Dick (Michelle) Wilson; Many beloved nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends. Donald was preceded in death by his wife, Lillian Wilson and his parents, Gaylord and Geraldine. |
