LILEY, Douglas E. – Of Grand Blanc, age 84, passed away Sunday, September 26, 2021 at his residence.
Per his wishes, cremation has taken place and no service will be held.
Douglas was born in Burton Township, Michigan on March 23, 1937, the son of the late Woodrow and Bernice (Johnson) Liley. He went on to serve in the National Guard. On February 4, 1955 he married Darlene Chase and they had been married for 66.5 years. Douglas retired from General Motors as an electrical engineer. He also had his own business in automated electrical controls. Douglas was a Mason. He enjoyed making turquoise and silver jewelry as a hobby and he also made musical instruments.
Surviving are wife, Darlene Liley;
children, Kathryn(Dan Hart) Liley, Michael (Barbara) Liley, Mark (Beth Barnette) Liley and Julie (Kenneth) Thompson;
grandchildren, Leighann Hewitt, Devan Lane, Tracie Boyte, Mark David Liley, Amanda Cianfarani, Taylor Stanley, Madison Jones,
Karah Thompson, Nicholas Thompson and Logan Reed;
many great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson;
and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Woodrow Liley and Bernice Freer and brother, Duane Liley.
