Gary Lee Miller, age 74 of Vernon, passed away peacefully Friday, February 10, 2023 at Hospice House of Shiawassee County following a valiant battle with cancer. In accordance with his wishes, cremation has taken place and private family services will be held at a later date.
Gary was born February 11, 1948 in Flint, Michigan, the son of Elmer and Noma (Pegg) Miller. He was a graduate of Flint Central High School. He met Kathleen “Kitty” Alexander and they married on November 26, 1966 in Flushing, MI. They moved to Vernon and raised their family. Gary worked for General Motors Fabrication Plant in Flint until his retirement in 2003. He enjoyed spending time working on his 1970 ½ Chevrolet Camaro and loved showing off his classic car in many car shows.
Gary is survived by his wife of 56 years, Kitty Miller; his daughters, Rhonda (Darrin) Wassom of Traverse City, MI and Rachel (Jeff) Roberts of Denver, CO; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer and Noma Miller; brothers, Wilbur, Robert and Bruce; sister, Wilma Davey; and in-laws, Elmer and Marjorie Alexander.
