EVANS, Michael R. “Harpo” – Of Swartz Creek, age 78, died Friday, September 23, 2022, surrounded by his loving family at Ascension Genesys Hospital.
Funeral service will be held at 4 p.m. Friday, September 30, 2022 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Father Jay Gantz officiating.
Cremation will take place following the service.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Carriagetown Ministries or charity of one’s choice.
Visitation 12 p.m. Friday until the time of the service at the funeral home.
Michael was born in Flint, Michigan on June 14, 1944.
On July 14, 1979 he married Barbara Whiting in Flint.
He retired from General Motors V-8 Engine as an Electrician after 38 years of service.
Getting a motorcycle was at the top of his “bucket list”. He got his Harley and immediately joined a motorcycle club called the Spirit Riders. They ride clean and sober and do many charity events giving back to our community.
Michael was an avid deer hunter for both bow and rifle season.
Mr. Evans leaves behind his wife of 43 years, Barbara Evans;
2 children, Michael Evans Jr. (Kim) and Tina Fields (Craig);
2 step-children, Valerie Whiting and Brad Whiting;
5 granddaughters and 5 great-granddaughters;
brother, Stanley (Judy) Evans.
He was preceded in death by Sherry Trarop.
