Mrs. April B. Matthews was born on June 22, 1973 in Flint, MI the daughter of Sidney and Georgia Ford.
April attended Beecher High School in Flint, MI. She was a member of Greater Holy Temple C.O.G.I.C. She graduated from Beecher High School in 1991. Followed by her receiving a bachelor’s degree from the University of Michigan in 1995 and two master’s degrees from Mary Grove College in Education. She was employed at Dailey Elementary School starting as a fourth-grade literature teacher for 22 years. She was promoted to be Principle at Dailey Elementary School in 2017. She enjoyed writing poetry and gospel worship songs. She loved laughing and being with her family. She enjoyed shopping, baking and mentoring youth and former students. She participated in several auxiliaries at Greater Holy Temple C.O.G.I.C. including serving as a missionary member of the Finance Committee, Guild, the director of Vacation Bible School, the Sunshine Band, and a faithful member of the choir.
April leaves to cherish her memory husband, Philip B.
