Kirk Lane Barkel age 70 of Presque Isle passed away November 14, 2021 at MidMichigan Medical Center in Alpena.
He was born August 29, 1951 in Allegan County to John and Emma (Veldhoff) Barkel.
Kirk was a member of Grand Lake Community Chapel. He was a member and past president of Retired Men’s Fellowship of Flint and was an Adult Sunday School Teacher. He enjoyed Hunting, fishing and was a lover of Jesus. Kirk’s desire was that God would be glorified through all that he did.
He is survived by his wife, Pamela; mother, Emma; brother, John; mother and father-in-law, Sue and Lavern Clarke; brother-in-law, Brad (Julie) Clarke and sister-in-law, Jody (William) Ballard; and several nieces and nephews.
Kirk was preceded in death by his father, John.
Friends may visit at the Grand Lake Community Chapel on Friday, November 19th from 11 a.m. through time of his funeral at 1 p.m. with Rev. Dr. Greg Zurakowski, Rev. Karen Zurakowski and Pastor David Rogers officiating.
Interment will follow at the Presque Isle Township Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to: God Loves You Food Pantry or Grand Lake Community Chapel Women’s Ministry.
Kirk’s family wishes to thank the staff at MidMichigan Medical Center for their compassionate care and concerns for Kirk.
