Gerald Anthony Edelen was born the eldest of his Mother’s three children, on July 15, 1991 in Flint, Michigan. Gerald was baptized as a teenager at United Missionary Baptist Church. He graduated from Carman Ainsworth High School with the class of 2010 where he was a star athlete in both baseball & football. He continued his education by relocating to Houston, Texas to attend the Universal Technical Institute where he studied Automotive Engineering.
Gerald enjoyed spending time with his Mother, his family & his friends. He loved to facetime as many family members as he could for family phone calls. He enjoyed playing video games with his cousin Dominique, Jalon (6”4), Jamal and several other family & friends. Gerald always had a warm smile and a great sense of humor.
Gerald was a master at landscaping and he was a premier relocation specialist. Gerald’s passions and ambitions were focused on working towards building his own business, Major Transport, named after his beloved son, Major.
Gerald leaves to cherish his memory; son, Major Ean Randolph of Houston, Texas; Mother, Antionette Nettles & Step Father, Kareem Snell of Flint, Michigan; Father, Gerald Edelen of Houston, Texas; Grandmother, JoAnn Batson of Flint, Michigan; Siblings, Annitre & Anniya Branch of Flint, Michigan, Jayla & Justin Edelen of Houston, Texas; Aunts, Faith Brown, LaFang (John) Knight of Newton, Mississippi, Nicole (Len) Cherry of Jackson, Mississippi, Patrica Nettles & Kimyatta Evans of Flint, Michigan, Lakisha (Duran) Wilson of Mt. Morris, Michigan; Special Uncles, George “Buddy” Evans & Michael Muex of Flint, Michigan, Clifton “Sonny” Nettles of Newton, Mississippi. A host of cousins, including special cousins, Dominique & Kenny Evans, Patrick Nettles, Mario Nettles, Justin Nettles & Eugene Humphries. Gerald also leaves a host of other relatives and friends, including special friend to his family Shujaa Watson (Scooby).
Gerald was preceded in death by his Grandfathers, Thomas “Amp” Evans, Ronald “RC” Batson & James Edelen, Sr. Great Grandmothers; Annie Mae Nettles & Lovie Evans, Uncles; Ronald Batson & Tyrone McMillan.
