Marvia L. Jones, age 83, passed away January 6, 2021. Funeral service will be held 12 noon, Saturday, January 16, 2021 at Dodds Dumanois Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 901 Garland St., Flint, MI. Family hour will begin at 11 am at the funeral home. Pastor Autwan Roland officiating. Burial in Gracelawn Cemetery. Ms. Marvia was born in Flint, MI April 6, 1937, the daughter of Willie A. Moore and Sarah Alice Simpson. Ms. Jones attended Flint Schools and was raised on St. John St. She worked at Hurley Medical Center for a few years, then she moved to Detroit and was hired with Ford Motor Company, where she retired after many years. Marvia was a member of and enjoyed her church, New Harvest Ministries International. She was a very joyful, happy individual, always with a smile for people. Ms. Jones enjoyed shopping for jewelry, polishing her nails and Patti Labelle perfumes. Marvia leaves to cherish her memory, sister Thelma Burkett, brother George Moore, 4 aunts Minnie, Cora, Bessie, Geraldine, 2 uncles Omar and Joe, and a host of nieces, nephews, great, great, great nieces and nephews, and 1 great, great, great, great nephew and a host of cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, son Ronell Carlton Dean, husband Rufus Dean, siblings Alice Kehinde, Gloria Moore, Joe L. Barrow-Moore, and Levirt Moore. FACE MASKS ARE REQUIRED AT FUNERAL, ONLY 25 FAMILY MEMBERS FOR THE FUNERAL PER COVID RULES.
